One on One & Group Coaching to grow your business

How I Coach

Your business and professional objectives are the foundation of our working relationship, and everything we work on together will be focused on you and your objectives.  I will apply everything I’ve learned and developed in 24 years and 30,000 coaching hours to expedite your objectives and growth.

In my coaching model, we are co-creative partners in achieving your business, professional, and personal objectives.  I believe most people would say my value added to them has been:

  1. To cut through the outside noise and be clear about their authentic objectives, aspirations, and goals and why they’re important to them.

  2. To see things in themselves that help or hinder their performance, such as hidden strengths, self-limiting beliefs, and behaviors, or overlooked or expansive possibilities

  3. To help them gain control and optimize their time through structure, habits, access control, technology, and discipline

  4. To develop a durable mindset of winning, moving forward, and continuous improvement and not getting distracted or emotionally hijacked by temporary situations, setbacks, or difficult people.

Process Overview - It’s about achieving your objectives!

Everything we do will support your objectives, so we must clarify these early on!

  1. Business Objectives – are the qualitative and quantitative objectives of your current role.

  2. Professional Objectives – are the professional experiences, habits, relationships, skills, and behaviors you develop to achieve your professional aspirations.

  3. Personal Objectives - are related to your mental/physical health, family, spiritual, travel adventures and hobbies.  You may or may not choose to include personal goals in our work together.  It is totally at your discretion, and I’m fine either way.

Before We Begin – In Preparation of the Discovery Meeting

Before our first meeting (Discovery Meeting), I will conduct interviews, and you will complete an online profile assessment and a business profile survey. The assessment and survey will take you a total of one hour, while the interviews I will conduct will take none of your time. The three separate data points will give me a running start in understanding your business and business environment and how you relate to both.

  1. Interviews – I will conduct interviews with people (of your choosing) who have experience working with and around you.  Typically, 3-9 people are interviewed and are a sampling of peers, direct reports, and leaders.

  2. Business Survey – I have developed a custom business survey to understand your business objectives, competitive differentiation, how you spend your time, team culture, talent quality, and growth trajectory.

  1. Assessments – I use a highly validated Trimetrix (incredibly accurate) 55-page assessment that covers:

  1. Behavior –  you take action regarding Problem, People, Pace, and Information/structure.

  2. Motivators –  or what motivates you, your primary, situational, and indifferent motivators.

  3. EQ – Self-awareness, motivation, self-regulation.  Other Awareness - empathy and social skills.

Discovery Meeting

The discovery meeting is our first working session; the primary purpose is to clarify your objectives, frame our approach, and plan to achieve them.

Regular Meetings, Frequency, and Agendas

You always control the agenda, and to make our calls optimally productive, I encourage you to send me a simple agenda before our scheduled calls. A typical agenda will have two types of items. First, it will include the status of the actions taken since our last session. Second, it will include any ad hoc situations that have occurred since our previous session.

Everything we discuss and every assignment we cocreate is focused on advancing YOUR objectives to the next logical milestone.  You will take the required actions between our calls to achieve your objectives.  There will be the occasional reading, listening, and writing assignments, but those, too, will support and expedite your objectives and will not be onerous. We are co-creators in advancing your objectives, so if something is moving too fast, we will slow down the pace, but we will never pause because we must keep advancing even in small ways!

"Tim has been a coach and trusted advisor to me and many of my leaders.  With Tim's guidance, we have experienced 600% bottom-line growth in 10 years.  Tim challenges us to be more strategic with our 'go to market' strategy, helps direct our succession planning to ensure we have the right people positioned to accept new roles, and most importantly ensures we spend time thinking through daily decisions.  Our business is highly functioning and our clients are better served because of Tim's influence."
